Jane Wiseman’s Exit Moves Paramount+ Originals Under HBO Max’s Sarah Aubrey

On 23 October 2026, Casey Bloys announced that Jane Wiseman, head of Paramount+ originals, is leaving the streamer, according to The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap. Casey Bloys set out the new streaming leadership team in a staff memo, placing Wiseman’s former team under Sarah Aubrey of HBO Max.

The changes follow Skydance’s completion of its Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition on 6 October 2026. The memo says the two services will carry their respective momentum forward until leadership is ready to bring them together. The memo places Paramount+ originals and HBO Max programming under one leadership bench while the two services remain separate products.

Wiseman’s Exit and the Originals Team’s New Reporting Line

Jane Wiseman joined Paramount+ after Skydance’s 2025 acquisition of Paramount, according to The Hollywood Reporter. TheWrap reports that during her tenure she oversaw 28 new series pickups and 16 renewals, as well as BET+’s integration into the streaming service. She is the latest Paramount+ executive to leave, following Cindy Holland, who led Paramount Skydance’s direct-to-consumer division. The Hollywood Reporter says Wiseman has offered to help with the transition.

Her scripted orders included Discretion, with Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, and The Best of Us, with Jeremy Strong, according to TheWrap. Her slate also included Landman, MobLand, The Madison, Dexter, Dutton Ranch, a Clueless reboot, Ascent and Fear Not.

Before Paramount, The Hollywood Reporter says she was head of U.S. television at Sister and spent a decade at Netflix. TheWrap adds earlier roles at Fox, Chernin Entertainment and NBCUniversal, and says she has consulted for streamers including Amazon MGM Studios.

Her team now reports to Sarah Aubrey, according to TheWrap. The Hollywood Reporter gives Aubrey the title head of Paramount+, Max Originals and International Programming, and says she will oversee all programming for Paramount+. TheWrap describes her as head of HBO Max Originals.

Deal Closing Date
Skydance said on 6 October 2026 that it had completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The combined company is named Skydance, according to its SEC filing.

A Shared Leadership Bench Across HBO Max and Paramount+

Glenn Whitehead becomes president and chief operating officer of HBO and Paramount+, with oversight of business affairs, production and operations across both platforms, according to The Hollywood Reporter. TheWrap gives Whitehead the same title. Paramount+ and HBO Max now share one programming leadership group.

On the HBO side, The Hollywood Reporter lists Francesca Orsi as president of HBO Drama Series and Films, a step up from executive vice president. Amy Gravitt is executive vice president of HBO programming and head of comedy series for HBO and HBO Max. Nina Rosenstein leads late-night and specials programming, and Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller are co-executive vice presidents of documentary programming.

Jeff Cusson becomes head of communications for Skydance’s direct-to-consumer division. The Hollywood Reporter and TheWrap both say he reports jointly to JB Perrette and Melissa Zukerman. TheWrap identifies Perrette as TV co-CEO and Zukerman as Skydance chief communications officer. The Hollywood Reporter gives Bloys the title co-CEO and chief content officer of Skydance DTC.

In the memo, Bloys praised Wiseman’s work, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and said that running two streaming platforms with original programming will require great collaboration and a team mentality, according to TheWrap.

What the Change Means for Paramount+ Programming

The memo places Paramount+ originals under Sarah Aubrey, who will also continue to be responsible for Max Originals. The Hollywood Reporter says Aubrey will oversee all Paramount+ programming. TheWrap describes Paramount+ as set to combine with HBO Max under Bloys.

The memo asks the two services to carry their current momentum forward until leadership is ready to bring them together, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The reported change covers who leads Paramount+ programming.

The Hollywood Reporter cites about 140 million HBO Max subscribers worldwide and about 82 million for Paramount+, and says the structure and memo suggest HBO will continue to be the marquee name in Skydance’s streaming portfolio.

Paramount+ and HBO Max now share one programming leadership group.

Timing of the Combined Streaming Service

Skydance said on 6 October 2026 that it had completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company was previously named Paramount Skydance Corporation, and the combined company is named Skydance. Its Class B shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SKYD. The release says Skydance is targeting at least $6 billion in run-rate synergies within three years.

The release says the combined company will have two global streaming services, and that its direct-to-consumer streaming products will unify into a single service over time. The release gives no launch date, product name or pricing for that service. TheWrap says Paramount+ is set to combine with HBO Max.
