Helen Hoehne On Golden Globes Show & Whether She Gets A Look At Nikki Glaser’s Script; Manager David Unger Talks Industry Petitions; & Kim Magnusson On The Danish Industry – Zurich Studio

Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne, Artist International Group CEO David Unger and Oscar-winning producer Kim Magnusson stopped by the Deadline studio at the Zurich summit this past weekend to discuss awards shows, industry petitions and the awards race.

Hoehne teased some “new elements” to this year’s Golden Globes ceremony and talked about the addition of a podcast category. Amid much industry talk about censorship and what hosts can and can’t say, Hoehne said that presenter Nikki Glaser has “complete free reign” to go where she wants in her script. Hoehne disclosed that she sees elements of that script ahead of the night but not all of it.

At a time of some high-profile industry petitions, Unger, rep to talent including Michelle Yeoh, Christopher Lambert and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, was asked the extent to which he thinks reps should advise clients about signing petitions.

Meanwhile, Magnusson, a double Oscar winner in the short film category and chairman of the Danish Film Academy for 20 years, discussed his slate, the awards season and the health of the Danish industry.
