Tarleton State won its third straight game when it claimed a second-round victory over visiting unseeded North Dakota 31-13 on Dec. 6. Victor Gabalis threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns with an interception while Tylan Hines ran for 120 yards on 28 carries. Marquis Willis grabbed four receptions for 133 yards and a score, with Peyton Kramer and T’iar Young also catching TD passes. AJ Owens had both sacks for the defense while Bam Smith and Kasyus Kurns made interceptions.

Villanova knocked off previously unbeaten Lehigh, the No. 5 seed, 14-7 on Dec. 6, taking the lead when Pat McQuaide hooked up with Braden Reed for a 28-yard touchdown pass with 2:56 remaining. The Wildcats sealed the deal with Obinna Nwobodo, who forced a fumble with Lehigh deep in Villanova territory with 1:49 left in the game. McQuaide finished with 208 yards through the air while Ja’briel Mace ran for 48 yards and a game-tying score in the third quarter.

Saturday’s matchup marks the first-ever meeting between the Texans and the Wildcats. Villanova is in the playoffs for the third straight season, bowing out in the second round in 2024. Tarleton State, which moved up from Division II in 2020, is in its second consecutive postseason after a second-round exit last season.

This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
