Is the Hugh Jackman ‘Song Sung Blue’ movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

Good times will never feel quite so good as they do in the the new Hugh Jackman movie, Song Sung Blue, about a real-life Neil Diamond cover band.

The film, written and directed by Craig Brewer, is a narrative adaptation of the 2008 documentary of the same name by Greg Kohs, which followed a married couple, Mike and Claire Sardina, who toured as a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder. Jackman stars as Mike Sardina, aka “Lightning,” while Kate Hudson co-stars as Claire Sardina, aka “Thunder.”

Also starring Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, Mustafa Shakir, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi, Song Sung Blue has received positive reviews from critics so far, and even earned Hudson a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. At the very least, you know you’ll hear some familiar music that you love while watching this movie. While this one will be a fun one to watch on the big screen, we understand if you want to wait to watch this one at home. Where to watch the Song Sung Blue movie:

The Song Sung Blue movie is only be available to watch in a movie theater right now. The film will open wide in U.S. theaters on Thursday, December 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Song Sung Blue is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the Song Sung Blue movie streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

Song Sung Blue is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Focus Features release. Focus Features is a subsidiary of Universal Studios, and almost all Universal movies go to the Universal-owned streaming platform, Peacock.

You will be able to purchase Song Sung Blue on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital. You will eventually be able to stream Song Sung Blue on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription, four months after the movie streams on Peacock. This is thanks to the deal between Universal and Amazon that sends Universal movies to Peacock for the first four months of the “Pay 1 window,” then to Amazon Prime Video for the next months of the window, followed by four more months on Peacock. If our prediction for when Song Sung Blue will be on Peacock is correct, then you should see Song Sung Blue streaming on Prime around late July or early August 2026.

But the first place you’ll be able watch Song Sung Blue movie at home will be to buy or rent on digital platforms, followed by a streaming release on Peacock.

Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.

You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.

Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.

When will the Song Sung Blue movie be streaming on Peacock?

You might see Song Sung Blue streaming on Peacock around late February 2026.

Song Sung Blue is not yet streaming on Peacock. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Hamnet streaming on Peacock eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another Focus Features/Universal release, Bugonia, was released on digital after about one month in theaters, and it will begin streaming on Peacock about two months after opening in theaters, later this week.

If Song Sung Blue follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital by late January 2026, and streaming on Peacock around late February 2026. That said, other Focus Feature films have taken three months to stream on Peacock, so you may have to wait until late March.

This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent release strategy for home media. If you want to watch the Song Sung Blue movie right away, you can catch the movie in theaters.
