What Jennifer Lawrence’s mes° Haircare Launch With Arcaea Shows About Online-Only Sales
Jennifer Lawrence launched haircare brand mes° on 27 October 2026, built with Arcaea and its founder Jasmina Aganovic, and sold through its own website.
Jennifer Lawrence launched haircare brand mes° on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, in partnership with Arcaea, the company led by founder and CEO Jasmina Aganovic. Fortune reports that Lawrence debuted the brand at the Metrograph in Manhattan, and Glossy and Cosmetics Business report that the three products are sold exclusively through the brand’s own website, mesbeauty.com.
Launch coverage confirms the date and the partners, but not the equity terms behind them. Those terms remain unconfirmed.
How the mes° Partnership Is Set Up
Glossy reports that Lawrence was drawn to Aganovic after seeing her TED Talk on biotech’s role in beauty. Cosmetics Business says the two then came together to build the brand.
Aganovic is an MIT-trained chemical and biological engineer and the founder and CEO of Arcaea, which Cosmetics Business describes as a biology-first beauty company. Glossy describes her as the founder of the fragrance brand Future Society, while Fortune says Arcaea previously created it. Nylon describes her as the co-founder who works on the science.
Cosmetics Business says the brand’s approach combines Lawrence’s creative perspective with Arcaea’s biology-first approach.
Fortune describes the line as Lawrence’s first venture into launching a brand of her own. The ownership split between Lawrence and Aganovic, and whether Lawrence holds a stake in Arcaea, remain unconfirmed.
Arcaea Funding
Fortune reports that Arcaea has raised $78 million. The figure refers to Arcaea as a company rather than to the mes° line alone.
Products, Prices and Sales Channel
The line has three products. The Multitask Repair Mask is listed at US$52 and described as an intensive, lipid-rich repair mask. The Good Roots Volume Mist is listed at $34 and is a root-lifting spray. The Off-Duty Restyling Serum is listed at $44 and is a bi-phase serum. Fortune says the mask can be used on dry hair, a feature it presents as new for the haircare industry.
Glossy gives a price range of $34 to $52 across the line and describes the sales model as direct-to-consumer. Cosmetics Business says the products debut exclusively on mesbeauty.com.

What Lawrence and Aganovic Have Said
At the Metrograph launch, Lawrence told Fortune she had no control over her hair at all, and that she is photographed almost every time she leaves home without time for a blowout. In a separate interview with The Cut, as Fortune reports, she said she is treating the brand as if she has made the greatest thing on Earth, a stance she called a form of ‘forced manifestation’.
Lawrence told Nylon she wanted her hair to stop being so tangled and did not want to make ‘a really, really, really good detangler.’ She told Glossy that the Good Roots mist works as a built-in dry shampoo.
Aganovic told Glossy that the line is ‘fundamentally different’ from a standard celebrity brand. In Nylon, Lawrence said the team did not want to remake products that already exist, while Aganovic said they wanted the brand to feel ‘really indulgent’. She framed the line as a clear dividing point for the category and said her role included explaining thermodynamics to Lawrence.
Cosmetics Business reports that the brand’s messaging centres on ‘unbothered beauty’ and on helping customers spend less time managing their hair. Glossy reports that the brand claims 86% less frizz or 72 hours of volume.

What Remains Unconfirmed
The ownership split, Lawrence’s stake in Arcaea and any sales beyond the brand website remain unconfirmed.
Glossy says the reveal took place on a Tuesday and gives no separate on-sale date. The brand’s own website is the only point of sale named in the launch coverage.
The launch coverage names a film star, a founder and a science company, and the brand is sold direct-to-consumer from its own website.
