‘WWHL’: Mickey Guyton confesses to peeing herself during her 2021 Grammys performance

A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. On Monday night’s (Dec. 8) episode of Watch What Happens Live, country music artist Mickey Guyton revealed that she peed herself while performing at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

When a fan in the studio audience asked the singer to name the performance she’s most proud of, she said, “I would definitely say my performance of ‘Black Like Me’ at the Grammys was probably one of my most proud moments as a singer.”

Describing it as a “crazy” experience, Guyton also shared that she had just given birth to her first baby a month before the annual award show.

“Were you lactating?” host Andy Cohen asked, while Guyton replied, “And peeing on myself! They don’t tell you that after you give birth, you pee yourself.”

Pressing for more details, Cohen wondered if she peed herself on the Grammys stage, to which the musician confessed, “Yes, I did,” noting that no one up until this moment—including her bandmates—had known about that.

“It was between myself. You’re the first person [I’ve told],” Guyton added. “Andy, this is what you do.”

Cohen attempted to smooth things over with Guyton by telling her that country music legend Shania Twain once made in a very similar confession when she visited the Bravo Clubhouse. During a 2018 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Twain admitted to peeing her pants “in front of an audience multiple times.”

“I have peed myself onstage,” Twain said. “The show must go on.”

“I was very clever in this one moment,” she continued. “I stood up on my chair to get up and sing, I peed myself, and [to hide] the puddle, I just knocked my glass of water over.”

It’s a good thing she was wearing a skirt that night!

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
